On May 1, 2018 Caspers Company expanded into the North Florida Co-Op by buying ten existing McDonald’s® locations. As we near completing eight months in Jacksonville and reflect, we realize we cannot wait until the one year anniversary to brag and celebrate the addition to our family. It all started with a busy month in May preparing and then taking over in June with help from ALL of our Tampa Bay area supervisors, and even some general managers, pulling late nights in Jacksonville after driving up from Tampa to complete end of the month and meet our new team members! We thought those first couple days were crazy? We were just getting started!
As we merge with the new team and grow our McFamily, it has been a wondrous experience to watch them grow and develop. Vice President, Human Resources Kim Scott and her team spent countless hours meeting with each new team member to ensure they were properly on-boarded into our systems and going through new employee orientations. Vice President, Education Robbie Oberle and her training team spent hours in a tent set up in the parking lot for a few very hot summer days organizing and distributing new uniforms and shoes to everyone. Then they started our crew and manager training classes for the Jacksonville team. Vice President, Operations Manager Cedric Christopher and Area Supervisor Blake Lucy moved up to Jacksonville to join forces with our new Area Supervisor Jerod Jones to get to work Casperizing Jacksonville store operations. With new uniforms and new training our new family members flourished! Cedric Christopher states, “Watching these ten stores being Casperized and [seeing] Caspers’ effect on the entire market has been quite impressive and an honor to be a part of.”
From the day we made the move into Jacksonville we have trained and certified 32 Managers in ServSafe, trained and promoted 48 crew members to crew trainers through CTC classes, and we have had 121 MOC graduates!
Since June 1 the numbers continue to grow as we have hired OVER 200 new employees who have futures bright as ever!
As we move through the market remodeling and rebuilding locations to give a bright face to the community, Caspers Company is excitedly leaving their mark. To date we have held three Grand Re-Openings and look forward to celebrating a few more. “It is a joy to see and witness the transformation in attitude towards McDonald’s from the crew and the community when they see what we at Caspers can do”, says Vice President,
Community Relations Bob Conigliaro, as he scurries off to a planning meeting with his Marketing/Community Relations team to finalize details for our Lem Turner Road location Grand Re-Opening on February 17.
We could not be more proud of our Jacksonville team and the moves they have been making. Comments come streaming in on a daily basis from the community, “Because I have been going there since it opened years ago, and the service has always been terrible, until, it seems, the last few months it has been wonderful. I thought maybe they have new owners, there is SUCH a difference….”, says a satisfied customer via the VOICE survey about our Chaffee Road location. We are excited for them to continue the trend of making huge waves in our new community with fast service, hot food, and great smiles. Be on the lookout for more stories to come as we officially introduce our numerous team members on our www.CaspersNews.com blog, show off the fancy new cars they have been receiving as a general manager benefit, and show off the shiny upgraded stores that have been popping up. Join us in saying a huge “THANK YOU” to the Jacksonville team for welcoming Caspers Company with open arms, and going on the grand adventure together with us!
