“Good morning, how may I help you?”
“Hi, yes. Can I get… *sudden car horn followed by a scared scream* …Oh my goodness! What was that! It is too early for honking!”
While I’m trying to fight back my laughter, in the most serious voice possible I say, “Ma’am, that was your horn.”
“Oh goodness. That scared me. What a wake-up call! I don’t even remember what I wanted to order.”
“That’s okay, may I suggest a coffee? How about we just start over! Good morning, how may I help you?”
To the people who think working before 9:00 a.m. in the morning is early, let me be the one to tell you that you’re missing out on beautiful day-starter moments. When people ask me why I prefer mornings, they always throw in “But it’s so early, and customers are so rude!”
But it’s so much more than that, it’s the first smile of the day because you get to hand them their “go-go juice,” their “black magic,” or their cup of cream and sugar with a splash of coffee, because we all have those customers.
When you finally get their coffee just right, and they take that first sip, you can almost see the happiness steaming out of them. No matter what shift you work, you can always take that extra step to make a customer laugh or smile. You never know what kind of day they’re having. Let’s show them what makes Caspers so different; show them a glimpse inside of our family.
