I was born in Camden, Maine then graduated from high school on my 16th birthday. After that, I moved Florida and was on my own. Originally, I lived in the Gainesville area for about 6 years where I worked as a manager at Macy’s® and with a second job at McDonald’s® working on the overnight shift. While working for McDonald’s, I actually met my husband and soon after, we moved to Tampa which then began my journey with Caspers Company where I have been for three years. My husband and I just welcomed our baby girl Brooklyn to the world this past May.
My first day at McDonald’s I was closing and was working ‘back cash’ by myself. Throughout the night I ended up breaking two coffee pots, spilled an entire mop bucket all over the lobby, and paid out numerous wrong orders. I was so embarrassed that I never wanted to come back, but thankfully my trainer talked to me and told me, “It is OK, it’s not the end of the world, and you got this.”
Throughout my entire childhood, I was in foster care and have always had to push for what I want. That experience has made stronger and given me the “nothing is going to stop me” attitude. At one point in my life, I was homeless and had not a thing to my name. But I pushed myself and knew I wanted better, even worked four jobs at one time just to get on my feet. If it were not for my husband telling me about Caspers Company, where he originally started, I would have never moved to Tampa and had the life I have always wanted. Here I am now, five years since starting my journey with McDonald’s, and after climbing the ladder and a load of hard work, I am now a general manager for the West Hillsborough location.
Caspers Company has changed my life. I now live the life I have only dreamed of having. I’m especially thankful to be able to provide a comfortable life for my daughter, and I could not ask for anything more. Thank you, Caspers for all of the great opportunities and wonderful experiences!
