Meet the General Manager Annaley Havinga

I was born and raised in Brandon, FL and have one younger sister named Alexis. Growing up, I had the best of two worlds; my mom is Puerto Rican and my dad is Dutch. I grew up playing a bunch of sports like flag football, basketball, and karate (Even took a dance class or two!). In middle school, I was playing basketball and ended up dislocating my pinky finger which never healed correctly, so it is permanently straight. After graduating high school, I attended HCC to major in engineering working towards my degree. When I was little, I always loved space. My dream job was to become an aerospace engineer who worked on the space shuttles.
These days, I love to travel the world. I have visited almost two-thirds of the U.S.A. as well as Italy, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, and France, but my favorite place to be besides work of course is the beach. I love kayaking down the rivers and springs here in Florida. I also have three dachshunds named Reese, Skylar, and Oreo. With Reese, I actually have visitation rights with my mom. When I moved out, my mom said I couldn’t take him away from his family and had to share him so he wouldn’t have to be stuck in a cage for over ten hours a day.
In 2007, under General Managers Mike Bowen and Mike Yontz, I started out as crew at the Brandon #1265 location. After eight years of working at Brandon, I was moved to Seffner #5811 in 2015 where I worked under General Manager Blake Lucy for over a year. Then in 2016, was transferred to Lumsden and to Clair-Mel in 2017. About four months later, I was promoted to general manager at the Bearss Ave. restaurant for ten months. Then I was moved to the North Blvd. location where I have been for five months now.
One time when I first started at Caspers eleven years ago, Mike Bowen told one of his managers “If you can run a McDonald’s®, you can run anything!” I believe it to be true, and it has stuck with me all these years. I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has been a part of my career with this company thus far, Mike Bowen, Marc Dortch, Zakee Bailey, Kyle Trimble, Blake Lucy, Lynn Cintron, Tarena Williams, Rob Nyegard, Cathy Bracey, Yesy Cruz, Cedric Christopher, Rudy Garcia, Ms. Rose Balone, and so many more, but if I wrote them all, there wouldn’t be any more room for anyone else in this newsletter.
